Identity of Fake Steve Jobs Revealed

Steve4 After numerous bloggers and reporters spent months trying to find the answer, The New York Times recently revealed that it had uncovered the identity of the author of the satirical blog, "The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs."

Written by an editor at Forbes, the blog has parodied Jobs, Apple and the technology business world for more than a year. The "About Me" description on the blog's homepage says it all: "I love beautiful objects. I love creating them. Negative people upset me." His interests? They include mock turtlenecks, the color black and Tuvan throat singers. Even Bill Gates got in on the joke, when he introduced himself at a conference in May by insisting that he was not Fake Steve.

Forbes senior editor Dan Lyons, the author of the blog, will continue writing as the comic version of the Silicon Valley demigod on the Forbes site.

After admitting that he had been discovered, he took some shots at the new media crowd, noting that The New York Times figured out in one week a mystery that a bunch of blogs failed to solve over several months.—Gregory Mone
